Veterinary Technician

Fixed Term – Parental Leave Cover

One of our Vet Techs is heading off on parental leave, and we’re looking for someone to step in and keep things running smoothly, supporting our Production Animal and wider team at the Hastings clinic. This is a fixed-term, 12-month role suited to someone who enjoys variety, works well alongside farmers, and thrives in the fast-paced nature of rural veterinary practice—where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities include:

  • On-farm services such as dehorning, teat-sealing, vaccinating, scanning, and lifestyle block work

  • Assisting veterinarians with procedures

  • Equipment care, organisation, and maintenance

  • In-house laboratory testing (FEC, nitrate, FE spore counts)

  • General property maintenance tasks

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (or working towards it)

  • Strong animal handling skills

  • Empathy and understanding when working with farming clients

  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Veterinary Nurse

Full Time , 1 in 6 weekends rostered in-clinic, no on call work

We’re looking for a qualified veterinary nurse who is highly motivated and able to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing

  • Have at least 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Enjoy working within a friendly, motivated team

  • Be a great communicator with excellent phone manner

  • Be confident and competent in all aspects of nursing (surgery, anaesthesia, laboratory work, in-patient care and monitoring)
