Small Animal Veterinarian

Are you a passionate and dedicated Small Animal Veterinarian looking for your next career move? We’re looking for a skilled professional to join our expanding and supportive team in Hastings.

About the Role

Work alongside a collaborative and supportive group of experienced veterinarians, recent graduates, highly skilled veterinary nurses, and support staff.

Your role will involve all aspects of companion animal medicine and surgery, with the opportunity to develop your skills in an environment that values clinical excellence and teamwork.

We actively support areas of special interest, with team members currently working in fields such as orthopaedic surgery, ultrasonography, rehabilitation therapies, and more.

Rural Animal Technician 

 

12 months Fixed Term – Parental Leave Cover 

We’re looking for a passionate technician who enjoys variety, working alongside farmers and thrives in the fast-paced nature of rural veterinary practice – where no two days are the same. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • On-farm services such as disbudding, teat-sealing, vaccinating, and lifestyle block work

  • Sheep handling services (Conveyor)

  • Assisting veterinarians with procedures

  • Equipment care, organisation, and maintenance

  • In-house laboratory testing (FEC, nitrate, FE spore counts)

  • General property maintenance tasks

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • A relevant rural animal technician qualification (or working towards it)

  • Strong animal handling skills

  • The ability to work in a dynamic and diverse team

  • Empathy and understanding when working with farming clients

  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Veterinary Nurse

We’re looking for a qualified veterinary nurse who is highly motivated and able to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks.

Full-time position | 1 in 6 weekends | No on call work

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
  • Have at least 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Enjoy working within a friendly, motivated team
  • Be a great communicator with excellent phone manner
  • Be confident and competent in all aspects of nursing (surgery, anaesthesia, laboratory work, in-patient care and monitoring)
