Rehabilitation Services

Veterinary rehabilitation uses targeted therapies which are complementary to conventional veterinary medicine. Therapies like physical rehabilitation, therapeutic exercises and acupuncture, can improve a pet’s mobility, reduce inflammation, provide pain relief and promote faster healing and repair.

At Vet Services Hawkes Bay we offer individualised programs to help get your pets back on all four paws again.

Almost every pet suffering from a chronic inflammatory disease or recovering from surgery, an injury or wound can benefit from veterinary rehabilitation

Meet Renate

Renate is our friendly and experienced rehabilitation veterinarian.

Originating from the Netherlands, Renate graduated from Utrecht University and spent 12 years in general practice as a small animal vet. As a vet she experienced how strong the bond between humans and their animals can be and owners  will go to great lengths to improve the quality of life for their furry companions.

The first years in practice made her realise that we can be limited in what we can do for our patients with the medication we have on the shelf. This was the reason she started exploring other ways of treating her patients and completed her postgraduate training in Veterinary Acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.

This was only the start of her journey that led her to becoming a certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (University of Tennessee) and being able to help more animals, to improve their quality of life and keep them moving.
