Small Animal Veterinarian

Are you a passionate and dedicated small animal veterinarian with 3+ years experience, looking for your next career move? 

About this role:

As a key member of our expanding and supportive Napier team, you’ll work alongside a group of four experienced and two recent graduate veterinarians, ten skilled veterinary nurses, and five support staff all working collaboratively to provide high-quality veterinary care. Your role will involve all aspects of companion animal medicine and surgery. 

We also offer the opportunity to pursue areas of special interest, with team members currently working in areas such as small pets and birds, orthopaedic surgery, acupuncture and rehabilitation therapies, and ultrasonography.

  • No afterhours duty: Family-friendly clinic with a shared weekend roster (approximately 1:6 weekends, 9AM – 1PM) and no afterhours duties, allowing you to enjoy your personal time.

  • State-of-the-art facilities: Our newly built clinic feature the latest veterinary equipment, including Sedcacal radiology, and more. We also offer separate cat and dog waiting areas, a dedicated small pets and birds ward, an orthopaedic surgery room and many more.
  • Overnight transfers: We offer the option for overnight case transfers to the Hawkes Bay Urgent Care and After Hours Veterinary Clinic, providing the highest standard of care for animals that require overnight monitoring. This ensures our veterinarians have full support from those who choose to work in the afterhours clinic.
