Vet Services Hawkes Bay received Excellence in Innovation and the Supreme Award at the Pan Pac Hawke’s Bay Business Awards 2022.
The annual awards are presented by the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce and celebrate business resilience, community connections, innovation, tourism, leadership, emerging business, and sustainability across the region.
In September we had two independent judges visit our Waipukurau clinic to interview staff members on all aspects of the business. Following the judging, Vet Services were named finalists in the Excellence in Sustainability and Excellence in Innovation categories.
The prestigious awards dinner was held at Toitoi’s Assembly Ballroom on Friday 18 November with representatives from all areas of Vet Services in attendance.
Vet Services won the third award of the night, Excellence in innovation which is sponsored by EIT.
The Pan Pac Supreme Award was announced at the end of the night for the overall best business of 2022.
In their statement, the board of judges said there were a lot of factors which made Vet Services Hawke’s Bay stand out as this year’s top business.
“Perhaps it is the two-year new graduate programme developed to attract and retain talent, or the bespoke-designed premises in Waipukurau,” the judges’ comments read.
“It could be the thoughtfully designed work practices to keep staff safe [while] working alone outside of hours, or the way they demonstrate their care for the community with a significant targeted contribution to community groups and scholarships to study veterinary sciences.”
The judges also remarked their innovation as a company and “engagement with the product supply chain to forecast future demand and influence production” were both outstanding.
“Ultimately, all of the above factors aligned together led the judges to determine Vet Services Hawke’s Bay as the Supreme Award winner for the Pan Pac Hawke’s Bay Business Awards 2022.”
